I am excited to be a part of the Microsoft Educator Expert (MIE) Team. Technology is woven through all my lessons, sometimes the feature, sometimes the support act. The Hands Held Out Academy is the core of my MIE work. Through it I hope to build confidence in educators, set foundations for their growth and enable them to be ‘innovative’ in their teaching. I want to bring a focus to ‘thinking in learning’ and enhance the learning, when appropriate, with technology. I worry that some educators feel left behind in a world that is making technology the focus. When we leave a teacher behind – we leave the students behind too. Through this site, and my face-to-face activities, I hold my hand out to colleagues, sharing ideas and skills on how to enrich learning in their classroom. The great thing is, I always learn from others too!
Being a member of MIE program is also my opportunity to learn and grow. Microsoft are a ‘Hand Held Out’ for me. We are all learners.
