{"id":333,"date":"2015-01-06T19:44:57","date_gmt":"2015-01-06T19:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mrsbarkerstearoom.com\/?page_id=333"},"modified":"2019-10-19T21:55:15","modified_gmt":"2019-10-19T21:55:15","slug":"creating-a-learning-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mrsbarkerstearoom.com\/?p=333","title":{"rendered":"Creating a Learning Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A syllabus provides&nbsp;teaching outcomes however the opportunities students are given to reach those outcomes&nbsp;will most&nbsp;often be determined by the&nbsp;classroom teacher.&nbsp;Advances in technology have&nbsp;provided teachers with a myriad of opportunities for enriching learning and engaging learners.&nbsp;For some educators this is exciting, for others, it can often be overwhelming. As with all good planning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&nbsp;take your time<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;have a clear purpose\/intention<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;refer to relevant guides and checklists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 class=\"auto-style6\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Writing your Program<\/span><\/h5>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\">1. Clearly identify&nbsp;your learning intention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\">2.&nbsp;Consider what your students would need to demonstrate to you to show that they have&nbsp;met the learning intention.&nbsp;This will be your&nbsp;success criteria.<\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\"><em>For older students (Yr3 and older) you may wish to write the success criteria with them.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\">3. Planning<\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style3\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">NOW IS THE TIME TO CONSIDER :<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\"><em>What are the abilities of the students? Are there special needs to keep in mind as you plan?<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\"><em>What capabilities would you like to target in this learning activity? (Refer to 21st Century Learning Design, your school scope &amp; sequence etc)<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\"><em>Will technology enrich the learning activity?<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\"><em>Is there a program you have seen or heard about that you would like to use and seems appropriate for this learning activity? Do you require training? How will you achieve this? <\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\"><em>Would you like to use technology but are unsure of the best option? Consult your colleagues or Learning Technology coordinator &#8211; ask the students for their ideas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"auto-style1\">You might like to consider creating the learning sequence around a guided inquiry model. I use the <em>Library Learning Path.
